When the JW Marriott Grand Rapids’ silhouette was first added to the city skyline in 2007, it arguably marked a new era in high-rise luxury for the West Michigan hospitality landscape. Its 23 floors offered a new perspective on the riverfront and on the designed urban retreat, and with more than 15,000 square-feet of flexible meeting space, it provided a destination for both leisure and business travelers.
The hotel has once again marked another milestone with the unveiling of its newly renovated International Ballroom in January 2020 during a two-day Wedding Showcase event. The space has been transformed into one inspired by modern sophistication and elements reminiscent of movement and water. From the geometric, decorative fixtures and bold, complementary hues of its previous carpet, the International Ballroom has undergone a thoughtful transition featuring dark, muted blue tones; metallic accents and greenery; sweeping, curvilinear patterns on the floor; and delicate, cascading chandeliers.
The JW Marriott Grand Rapids is part of the AHC+Hospitality portfolio and features 325 rooms, 11 suites, and amenities such as: The Spa at the JW Marriott; fitness facilities and swimming pool; executive business center, and the French-inspired, modern bistro Margaux.
