Preparing to launch a four-year-old bourbon in March 2020, Eastern Kille Distillery on Ottawa Ave in Grand Rapids, Michigan, received word that all bars must close, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With some quick ingenuity, the distillery was still able to sell out its new four-year-old release. With this, Eastern Kille also started a new trend: Cocktails to go. Pairing their distilled spirits with fresh juices, fruits, and seasonings, these kits continue to be a big hit.
Reopening in June 2020 with indoor and outdoor seating, Eastern Kille continued to captivate the liquid palate with a variety of offerings from all their spirits, which include bourbon, rum, gin, and agave spirits. If a little island magic is more your style, once-a-month you can slip away to the tropics, sipping on an island drink served in a tiki glass with Reggae music playing in the background; a short distance to travel to enjoy the island vibe.
The distillery continues to offer new releases, with four planned by the end of the year. Their popular whiskey breakfast rye is anticipated for release during the first week of August.
Eastern Kille, Middle Dutch for “riverbank,” is located on the east side of the Grand River, just north of downtown Grand Rapids; beckoning you to enjoy a fine cocktail or flight of Eastern Kille Bourbon, daily from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
