September 2019 marked the last year for West Michigan’s popular exotic car show, Cars & Coffee Grand Rapids, before the pandemic changed the course of city events. This Saturday, July 24, however, the event kicks off once again at the Grand Rapids Downtown Market, which will host more than 120 exotic cars—from sports and muscle cars to classics—in its spacious outdoor areas for the public and car enthusiasts to peruse for free.
“Our last Cars & Coffee event at the Downtown Market was one of our most well-attended events to date, and we’ve felt that momentum return as we prepare for this Saturday,” said Andy Siradakis, director of the Cars & Coffee Grand Rapids, in a press release. “All of the car owners and enthusiasts have been waiting patiently for this day, and the influx of positive responses from participants and the public was immediate. Being able to return to the Market as a venue for these events is just icing on the cake.”
This year’s event features a new layout where Ionia Avenue will be closed directly in front of the Market, allowing for cars to be located between McConnell Street and Logan Street, as well as the lower McConnell Street parking lot near Ionia Avenue Southwest. Spectators and attendees can park in the main Downtown Market parking lot and upper McConnell Street lot, or walk to the centrally located market, which is open from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. ET.
Within the 24-vendor Market Hall, food and beverages abound with merchants offering fresh baked goods, coffee, barbeque, tacos, ice cream, and more—plus groceries to-go. Visitors are welcome to grab a snack or specialty soda or coffee and head outdoors to explore a multi-styled collection of automotive luxury.
“Andy and his team have been working hard to bring Cars & Coffee back to the Market, and we know our visitors will enjoy being outdoors to enjoy the camaraderie and atmosphere surrounding the event,” said Mimi Fritz, president and chief executive officer of the Grand Rapids Downtown Market, in a press release.
The event on Saturday, July 24th will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. ET, with two more events following on Friday, August 13th and a finale on Saturday, October 9th.
